Suzuki Teases New Middle-class Motorcycle

Japanese manufacturer Suzuki keeps itself busy these days arousing our interest with a new motorcycle the company plans to roll out soon. The official website greets visitors with a flash teaser that shows the silhouette of the upcoming model, which Suzuki likes to call Middle-class New Motorcycle.

The lines, as far as we could tell, point to a middleweight adventure touring motorcycle, which makes us think of an all-new V-Strom that could seek to compete against the BMW F800GS or the new Triumph Tiger 800 XC.

However, if we were to leave the Middle-class designation aside for a bit, we could be looking at an off-road version of the V-Strom 1000 which would battle the BMW R1200GS Adventure, KTM 990 Adventure and the all new Yamaha Super-Tenere. We say that because we are tempted to look at the Middle-class term from two different sides: it could either refer to the engine displacement, or to the pricing range of the new bike.

The adjacent teaser images we managed to snap from the Suzuki website reveal the front and rear end of the bike. At the front, the lines reveal a tall windscreen and cat-eye headlamp, tall handlebars, and what looks to be an electronically adjustable windscreen. At the rear, we can distinguish a single exhaust, passenger grab-handles on the sides, and a shroud for the muffle.

Either way, we are surely going to meet the new adventure touring bike live at the upcoming EICMA show in Milan this November, taking all the spotlight at Suzuki’s stand. But the company promises to lift the mistery veil on June 15, so until then we can only ponder on what exactly Suzuki means to say by Middle-class...
