Japanese automaker Suzuki has announced the introduction of a 4x4 version for its Swift supermini in the United Kingdom. Set to go on sale this month, the Swift 4x4 is available with a VAT free offer (until September 30) from £11,516.
Only 65 kg heavier than the 2WD version, the Swift 4x4 can be ordered with the 1.2-liter petrol engine and five doors in either SZ3 or SZ4 grades. Equipped with a manual transmission, the new Swift 4x4 comes with estimated CO2 emissions of 126 g/km, 10 g/km higher than the 2WD.

While the SZ3 version stands out when compared to a regular model just by its 4x4 badging and increased ride height, the SZ4 bears a more rugged appearance thanks to the addition of front and rear skid plates, black wheel arch extensions and black side skirts. The SZ4 also includes power folding door mirrors and daylight running lamps as standard equipment.

As we already mentioned, the Swift 4x4 can be had for £11,516 in SZ3 form, while the SZ4 costs £13,116.
