The riot-torn Maruti-Suzuki factory, in Manesar, India has reportedly been reopened last Tuesday with some 1,200 police officers maintaining order in and around the plant. Also, considering the fact that there are currently only around 75 workers in the plant, they are greatly outnumbered by the police.
The number of workers will eventually rise to 300 and the number of police officers will be greatly reduced, as they will reportedly be stationed at the location in shifts of 100. Production levels will also steadily grow, from the 150 cars per day that are being built now, to somewhere in the region of 1,500 to 1,800.

The Manesar plant builds the Suzuki Alto, for the Australian market and due to the July 18th shutdown, they have lost a reported $250- (€200-) million in potential revenue. Now, with the reopening of the Indian plant, Maruti-Suzuki Stocks have risen by 1.7%.
