"Tuning for a Suzuki? You must be crazy." is what people would have told you a couple of years ago. But out of the blue, the company revealed a brand new Jimny which looked like almost every rugged SUV ever made. Some people decided to take that idea to the next level, so Jimny copycats started popping up.
We recently showed you how a Chinese company is making a dead-ringer for the 2019 Mercedes G-Class, and it's not even the first outfit to do so. However, Japan's tuner DAMD finished its German makeover long ago and decided to do a Land Rover one as well.

The transformation is very convincing, partly because the Jimny was already shaped like a brick truck from long ago. It also has the whole simple, rugged construction that even Land Rover doesn't use.

DAMD changed the front end with the help of a new grille and bumper. Interestingly, these also make the Jimny a better off-roader, as approach angles have been increased. With the help of some British-looking paint and other accessories, it really does look like the old Defender, provided nobody stands next to it.

While the tuner couldn't risk using any Land Rover badges, it's copied that font and named its creation "Little D," which is either the worse name in car history or the best, depending on how you look at it. Considering how cheap the Suzuki SUV is, it's not like its owners are trying to compensate for something in that department.

There's also a G-Class inspired model called the "Little G" in our photo gallery, which has different bumpers and such. This looks more toy-like but has an undeniable charm about it, but is less convincing. This kind of transportation isn't for everybody, but you can view it as a form of self-expression.
