The new Jimny is so cool that some Suzuki dealers in Europe have stopped taking orders. But it's also popular in Japan, and local tuners have been fighting over who has the best body kit.
This one is from Wald International, the makers of the famous Black Bison package, which has changed the look of everything from the Rolls-Royce Dawn to the Lexus LS. Compared to those, the Jimny seems cheap, but this plays into its rugged appeal.

What they've done to the car is entirely crazy, but in a good way. Many of the body panels have had to be redesigned. For example, Wald added a bulge over the top of the hood for the G-Class look, and also had to squeeze in some extra indicators.

The grille looks like the Land Rover Defender, but not the stock version, more like a custom Kahn setup. It features new housings for the LED headlights, as well as a revised lower bumper which incorporates AMG-like fake air intakes.

The fender flares bolted into the existing fenders make this appear even more off-road-ready, in combination with the extra-beefy tires. Around the back, the little Jimny sports a new spare wheel cover and a massive wing over the roof, like you see in some G63 projects. The bumper has also been revised to the full width of the fender flares.

Right now, the prototype is still being put together but should be ready for the Tokyo Auto Salon in January. The kit should be available to buy next year, and prices should be relatively low, considering the Jimny doesn't attract the same crowd as Wald's usual creations. But if you want a custom baby G-Class, you're going to be spoiled for choice. Just check out what DAMD has to offer, for instance.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
