Suzuki GSX-R600 for 2010/11 Top Gear Live World Tour

Usually an exclusive four-wheel show, Top Gear Live has selected Suzuki's GSX-R600 as its chosen motorcycle for the 2010/11 World Tour. The live arena event series kicked off earlier this month at Earls Court in London, combining an action packed live version of the TV show, alongside a Motor Show of the very best performance cars in the world, plenty of stunts and special effects.

“I’m keen to have more motorcycles at Top Gear Live, and sports bikes like the Suzuki GSX-R600 turn as many heads as a Nissan GTR. Our show features some of the fastest cars in the world, tuned almost beyond their limits, so any bike that braves our arena needs to have some serious performance backing it up,”
stated Top Gear Live Executive Producer, Rowland French.

“For us the GSX-R fits the bill perfectly, and features in a sequence with Stig driving a 600bhp supercharged Mustang. With Dougie Lampkin, one of our highly experienced stunt riders onboard, the GSX-R definitely gives the cars a run for their money," added French.

The 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 has received not only a facelift in line with the 2009 model, but also a revised engine package and ample weight trimmings, as well as a weight loss. In fact, the new middleweight gixxer now tips the scales at 413 pounds (187,8 kg).

The new GSX -R600 is expected to hit Suzuki dealerships in February 2011, at a retail price around EUR8,200 ($11,599).

Visiting seven cities around the world and playing to over 300,000 spectators, the GSX-R600 features alongside the famous Top Gear presenter line-up of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, as it visits London, Birmingham, Dublin, Brisbane, Melbourne, Johannesburg and Oslo.
