Mystery still surrounds the new generation of Suzuki GSX-R1000 machines, as Hamamatsu decided to reveal an exciting action video of the bike being ridden hard at a race track. The mystery comes from the fact that Suzuki has still not surfaced any official information regarding the launch date of this bike.
We saw the Suzuki GSX-R1000 CONCEPT last week in Milan at EICMA 2015, and it was on display with a rather laconic tech spec sheet that only mentioned the most important new features for the bike. No power figures or similar data was available, and no hint as to when this two-wheeler might make it in the dealerships.

From where we stood, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 CONCEPT looked like a bike that was ready to roll, and the new video confirms that the bike is extremely close to the production form.

Since Suzuki took the new-generation GSX-R1000 to the track (with a yet unidentified test rider), we can presume that the bike is in the final stage of development, where the finest tweaks are being made.

The Suzuki GSX-R1000 CONCEPT incorporates a lot of new features, from the engine to the electronics package

In the absence of more detailed information, we'll have to make do with what the skimpy tech sheet at EICMA reveals. The future GSX-R1000 generation comes with an all-new engine packing some of the tech developments of the GSX-RR MotoGP bike.

The DOHC inline four sits in a new aluminum frame that is also encapsulated into an all-new, more aerodynamic bodywork. The suspensions come from Showa and use a BFF (Balance Free Fork) front unit and a BFRC (Balance Free Rear Cushion) rear setup.

LED clusters have been used for the headlight, turn signals and position lights, while a full LCD dashboard combines all the instrumentation into a single piece with tons of information available.

On the electronics features side, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 CONCEPT packs ride-by-wire, 1 0-level traction control system, multiple engine mappings selectable through the Suzuki Driver Mode Selector (S-DMS), electronically-controlled ABS, up and down quick shifting, plus a new Launch Control system.

The best guess so far is that the Suzuki GSX-R1000 CONCEPT might surface in its final trim this summer, but as a 2017 model year, which means more live photos from EICMA next year.
