Suzuki GSX-R in SMIDSY Live-Action Crash

The crash recorded by these two riders should, in an almost perfect world, ban the SMIDSY excuses forever. In fact, I believe that it’s the police officers and judges who have their fair share in the proliferation of this cretin “sorry mate, I didn’t see you” excuse. In case they stopped accepting even hearing such words, maybe some drivers would be more careful knowing such excuses won’t work.

However, the world is far from being a perfect place, and such accidents are probably happening as you read this piece. This British Gixxer rider was very lucky and escaped with no broken bones and only extensive sores, despite the somewhat elegant somersault he performed.

Of course, one of the key factors in seeing him walk away from this crash was the reduced speed. Even though the helmet camera perspective might make you believe his speed was much higher, it’s all because of the slightly deformed imaging from the GoPro camera case. The same scene recorded by the camera mounted on the second bike shows that the two riders were not speeding, and the first one’s claim of doing 30-33mph (around 53 km/h) seems credible.

Unfortunately, nothing can beat the recklessness of some drivers and it’s all down to each rider’s luck for making it in one piece after such encounters.
