Suzuki Discusses the 2014 V-Strom 1000

Announced at the past EICMA in Milan, Italy, the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 looks like it is indeed making steps towards a commercial version, as the Hamamatsu guys put up a dedicated sub-site for the upcoming liter-class adventure machine.

The new website offers an interview with Tomohisa Ichimaru, the Product Planner, an adventure rider himself. Ichimaru says that the new V-Strom 1000 was also developed taking into account the results of numerous surveys in Europe, and he also adds that the new liter-class adventure bike will be developed from a rider's point of view.

During the development process, focus was placed on weight reduction, stability and safety. Shaving off weight from such a machine was accomplished by using modern materials and refined engineering, while making no compromise to chassis rigidity.

ABS will be offered as standard and the V-Strom 1000 will also be the first production Suzuki to have traction control. On the suspension side, it looks like it's not the time yet for semi-active units.

Enjoy the extensive interview with Tomohisa Ichimaru after the jump. If the 2014 Suzuki V-Strom is half as good as it looks great and comes with a good price, we're kind of hooked.
