The international charity auction will end this Sunday, MCN reported, when the winner of the auction will also receive a limited edition helmet and VIP package for two to go to the German Grand Prix in July.
The VIP package will give the winner two seats on the SUZUKI-Grandstand (Omega infield) for the Sachsenring MotoGP event, a pit tour, two paddock-passes, two team shirts and giveaways and two nights accommodation. However, the package excludes travel fees.
“Our recent Suzuki Victorian Bushfire Appeal received great support from the international motorcycle community,” Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.
“Now, this international auction gives Australian fans a chance to return the favour and get behind two worthwhile causes by bidding for the sensational prize. The MotoGP replica, 2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a superb motorcycle, and a weekend at the German Grand Prix would be one to remember,” Morison added.
The motorcycle, which is a replica of Aussie MotoGP Chris Vermeulen’s bike, is number 7 of the 200 limited edition built by Suzuki as a replica of the original Rizla Suzuki track model. The winning bidder will receive the bike from Vermeulen himself and his team-mate Loris Capirossi. As we said, the money will go to charity, supporting Riders for Health, for the development of African nations by providing reliable transport to health workers on the continent, and the Wings for Life Spinal Research Foundation, for the scientific advancement and medical research of healing a paraplegia in consequence of spinal injury.
