Set for a 2014 launch, Suzuki's new city car has managed to spark out attention for all the right reasons. Because they are a small automaker with roots in the Japanese auto industry, their current city car was based on a kei car. As a result, the Alto wasn't very good, but the new model seems to fix most of the problems.
At the recent Thai Auto Show, a replacement for the Alto was revealed. Called the A:Wind Concept, this small car has all the right design elements to ensure it's relevant in Europe. Suzuki was quite blunt in saying the A:Wind was going into production next year, but never revealed a name.

However, Goauto.com.au has managed to obtain information according to which the Suzuki city car will actually be sold as the "Celerio". This name is also called that in some markets, but now it will be used across the world.

Expect the concept's dimension of 3,600 mm length, 1,600 mm width and 1540 mm height to be retained. Also, the engine is likely to be a 1.0-liter with 70 PS available with a 5-speed manual or a CVT. Compared to the current Alto, the Celerio will no only be bigger, but also better equipped by the looks of things.
