Sutil Avoids Pointing Finger at Raikkonen for Germany Failure

Although he was so close to scoring his first points in Formula One this weekend, Adrian Sutil reckons he cannot walk out of Nurburgring too disappointed. While obviously running for points on Sunday, the German saw his race being torn to pieces by Kimi Raikkonen's move in the very fist corner of his out-lap.

Sutil was to rejoin the field in 6th place after his first pit stop, when Raikkonen closed in on his outside at the exit of Turn 1 and produced some increased damage to his front wing. The German had to make another pit stop in the very following lap, therefore kissing his chances of making the scoreboard good bye.

Despite his incredible bad luck, Sutil pointed out to the progresses made by Force India through the duration of the weekend, especially since the Silverstone based team has consistently ran Top 10 lap times at the Nurburgring all weekend.

We shouldn't be that disappointed with this result as we have had a good weekend and the next one will come very soon. All our development shows we are on the right track and that we are much more competitive,” said Sutil in a post-race press release from Force India.

Overall I think we've learnt a lot; it's the first time starting in the top 10 and it's a different race up there! It's been a good push for everyone in the team to get some more development so we can finally get some points,” added Sutil, who avoided to blame Kimi Raikkonen for their clash on Lap 27.

When I went out of the pitlane I saw Kimi coming on the outside of the corner and I just tried to hold my line but he went to the outside and I touched him and lost part of my front wing,” said the German driver.

Giancarlo Fisichella also made a positive outing at Silverstone as he finished 11th overall after starting from 18th on the grid. His overtaking maneuvers on BMW's Robert Kubica and Renault's Fernando Alonso during his first stint were clearly the highlights of his race in Germany.
