Surprising: Porsche 911 Carrera S Shoots Flames

If surfing Youtube in search of supercar exhaust flames, a Porsche 911 is among the least likely cars to stumble upon. It's not a supercar, it doesn't come with a big V12 engine and its exhaust has a serious personality.
And yet here we are, looking at what's likely the only video of a Porsche 911 acting as a flamethrower during a car meet in Dubai. We're not complete sure what model this is, but between the quad exhaust and the lack of a light strip connecting its taillights, we're 95% sure this is a Carrera S.

So, how come a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine can shoot flames now? It likely has to do with the guys at SimonMotorSport, a one-stop-shop from the United Arab Emirates who breathed new life onto the exhaust system. Even so, the pipes need to be glowing a very bright shade of red before blue devils can escape the back of this Porsche.

We were able to track down the Project car, which was completed in August and seems to include Vorsteiner Wheels, a Vorsteiner carbon fiber body kit and new exhaust system from Fabspeed.

Launched at the end of 2012, the current Porsche 911 Carrera S is motivated by a 3.8-liter engine that produces exactly 400 horsepower. For those who want more power, Porsche also offers a "Power Kit" that bumps that number to 430 horsepower.

This footage was captured earlier this week at the Gulf Car Festival 2014, the same event where we saw an R8 with Armytrix exhaust shoot even larger flames.
