Here we thought that we would be getting news any day on the latest Ford Mustang RTR from Vaughn Gittin Jr., but he’s definitely keeping us on our toes about that all-new drift ‘Stang. Instead, he’s been filling our feeds with videos of insane drift events or rally racing with his dog, but this latest tease on Facebook definitely has us intrigued.
In what could very well be the first attempt at a customized 2015 Ford F-150, Gittin Jr. released a picture of the redesigned pickup truck sitting on jack stands with the front axle and suspension removed and various plates and braces shown welded onto the frame (kudos to whomever is responsible for those perfect welds, by the way!). In the description of the image, it originally said that the truck is a “new 2015 Ford F150 moon hovercraft SEMA project,” but, interestingly, it was quickly edited to remove the mention of SEMA. It’s not clear if this is intended to be a SEMA reveal, but the “moon hovercraft” along with the fact that this all-new F-150 is going under the knife is exciting enough.
Surrounding the truck are plenty of meaty tires, so maybe he’s also preparing an extreme off-road version of the truck. On the other hand, seeing the F-150 in such a state of undress has us recalling Ken Block’s Ford F-150 RaptorTRAX that was unveiled earlier in the year. Starting life as a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, the RaptorTRAX swapped out the truck’s bead-locked wheels for a set of snow tracks transforming the off-road truck into a “the ultimate backcountry snowboard expedition vehicle.”
As for Gittin Jr.’s insane creation, we’ll just have to stay tuned for more information.
