Dani Pedrosa was examined by Dr. Angel Villamor and both seem rather optimistic about the progress of his recovery. It is still too early to know whether Pedrosa will be 100% up for the Jerez race, but his right forearm is healing well, Villamor says.
The stitches used to suture his surgery have been removed, and the post-surgery swelling has disappeared almost completely. Moreover, the Spanish rider has regained full mobility for his hand and elbow, and this is an excellent sign that things are going well and according to the envisaged schedule.

"Things are going well at the moment, we’re on schedule according to the doctors, which I think is the best possible news. I’m starting to feel better and more comfortable. In any case, we need to be patient and continue to respect the schedule," Pedrosa says on his official Repsol blog.

Pedrosa needed surgery for arm pump, a common affliction of MotoGP riders

Earlier in April after the Qatar round, Dani Pedrosa revealed to the media that he had been struggling with arm pump in his right arm for around one year. He then added that he felt like it was no use in trying to compete while his condition persisted and decided to have surgery.

Even though he was about to miss at least two rounds, COTA in the US and Termas de Rio Hondo in Argentina, this was the only smart move he could make.

Livio Suppo: "We're in no hurry"

Knowing that a full recovery is more important for the future of the season than rushing things and having Pedrosa back on the bike, HRC's Livio Suppo declared that the team knew about the problem and is in no hurry. The good health of the rider is paramount and the loss of points is a thing that comes with the very act of racing.

Whether Pedrosa will line up on the grid at Jerez de la Frontera 1-3 May is up to him, Dr. Villamor says. To test the true extent of Pedrosa's recovery, he will take part in a supermoto race to be held next week, ahead of the Spanish GP.

We wish Dani a quick and full recovery.
