Supermodel Erin O'Connor Promotes Opel/Vauxhall Ampera

As the launch moment of the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera is approaching, General Motors' British division tries to promote the car as much as possible, in order to set the stage for the upcoming model. As part of a promotion campaign, Vauxhall invited supermodel Erin O'Connor to star next to the Ampera, while wearing an exclusive outfit dubbed "Erin Electric".

The dress was designed by British fashion icon, William Tempest, who used 1,000 dazzling lights and Swarovski crystals to better match the appearance with Ampera's electric cues.

“I’m a real supporter when it comes to helping the environment, and the Vauxhall Ampera is a massive leap in the right direction, so it was an easy decision to welcome it to London. Of course, I also leapt at the chance to team up with my friend William again and have the pleasure of wearing another one of his stunning designs!” Erin O’Connor
said.

“When Vauxhall approached me about designing a dress to celebrate the Ampera, I was really excited. My thoughts for the design immediately turned to bringing to life the electric nature of the car, and what better way than with an actual electric dress?” William Tempest added.

The Ampera incorporates a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery that supports an autonomy of up to 50 kilometers on electric power alone. Together with the combustion units, the electric unit allows for a range of 500 km, according to official specs. The battery can be easily recharged via any household 230v outlet.

“The Vauxhall Ampera is truly innovative, and just like William’s dress, there’s nothing else quite like it. With both William’s and Erin’s cutting-edge style and green credentials, we felt the Ampera presented the perfect opportunity for them to collaborate again on something they are both passionate about,"
Wendy Towler, spokesperson for Vauxhall, said.
