As the Nissan Qushqai is one of Europe’s favorite cars, it comes as no surprise to us that a mainstream ECU optimizer like Superchips has targeted it.

The British Aftermarket ECU remap providers now offer an upgrade for the 110PS Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi engine which supposedly doesn’t decrease the economy or the drivability. The n Superchips’ ‘Plug-in and Go’ DIY programing boosts the power of the 1461cc turbo diesel from 110 PS at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 240Nm (177 lb-ft), to 130 PS and a torque figure of 277Nm (204 lb-ft) at 2,259rpm.

Superchips says that what it found during its tests is that the extra low end torque translates into lower fuel consumption by up to 7 percent.

In Britain, the kit can be fitted at over 80 dealers for £399 and works with all the Qashqais built from September 2010.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
