Superchips ECU Upgrade for BMW 320d

Vehicle remapping specialist Superchips launched a new ECU upgrade for the popular BMW 320d featuring the 2.0-liter, 175 bhp turbo diesel unit. The specialists used the company’s in-house chassis dynamometer for performance enhancements and then combined with extensive road testing for final validation.

The ECU remap therefore added an extra 44 bhp and 103 Nm of torque to the E90-E93 320D, increasing the maximum outputs to 220 bhp and 444 Nm of torque respectively. However, the vehicle’s fuel economy is unaffected by the Superchips’ ECU remap with the tuner even claiming that consumption mostly improves due to the extra low rev torque available to the driver.

Superchips informs that its new E90-E93 320D ECU remap can be purchased in two ways. First, customers can visit one of its dealerships in the UK who will install the upgrade. Secondly, they can purchase the product and self upload it in minutes using a Bluefin handset.

The company specialists say no technical skills are required as customers simply plug in the Bluefin handset to the BMW’s ECU OBDII diagnostics port, follow the on screen instructions and in a few minutes the Superchips program upload is complete.

As part of this process the original factory BMW 320D ECU map is stored on the Bluefin handset for future use and converting the car back to standard is a swift and simple ‘plug and go’ task.

Suitable for E90-E93 variants of the 320D produced between 2007 and June 2009, the 320D remap is available now directly from Superchips and its UK dealer network, priced at £435 including VAT.
