Supercharged Scion FR-S Making 235 WHP

Yes, it may sound a bit low, judging on the fact that the stock engine makes 200 hp, but that’s because of the measurement method.
You see, the 2-liter boxer engine on the Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S makes 200 hp at the flywheel, but around 40 of them are lost in the gearbox and the rest of the powertrain due to friction and the parts' inertia. This means that you only have 140 whp (wheel horsepower) left to play with.

They are enough for some sliding fun with the coupe, but in a straight line it feels kind of slow. That’s why many owners are fitting theirs with force induction mechanisms to ramp up the power a bit.

HG Motorsport fitted a 2013 Scion FR-S with a 69 mm pulley, twin screw Innovate supercharger with intercooler and the first flex fuel kit. The kit allows the engine to run on any mixture of ethanol and 91 octane.

The car now makes 210 whp with 91 tune and 235 whp on E85. Check it in the video bellow.
