When it comes to all things fast from Chevrolet, most of us think about the Camaro or Corvette or has-beens like the Nova or Biscayne. But many of us tend to forget the SS, which is essentially a four-door Corvette with Australian origins. Well, if the box standard LS3 small-block V8 isn’t good enough for you, Hennessey has something pretty good in store.
Meet the HPE600 Supercharged Chevrolet SS, brought to you by the most famous tuner from Texas. Founder John Hennessey is so smitten with this smooth operator that he decided to film a little test drive of the thing doing what it does best - eat up the miles fast and smoke its rear tires.

As the name implies, the HPE600 pushes 600 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and obscene amounts of torque. Squeeing so much grunt from the already potent LS3 V8 is simple if you have a 2.3-liter supercharger bolted on top of that 6.2-liter lump. But that’s not all there is to this ominous sleeper.

The tuning program also includes an in-house developed air induction system, custom pulley, high-flow fuel injectors, and a high-performance pulley. Even the thermostat now goes all the way to 160 degrees. Last but not least, a professional ECU calibration represents the icing on the HPE600 cake.

Other than HPE600 exterior badging, an engine plaque, and a numbered dashboard, customers also get premium floor mats and a 3-year/36,000-mile (57,936 km) limited warranty. If you have deep pockets, Hennessey will gladly add custom upgrades, Alcantara, high-performance exhaust & headers, joined by some go-faster drivetrain and chassis upgrades.

Now press play and let the HPE600 Supercharged Chevrolet SS sing the song of its people to you.
