Dyno chart for 785 WHP M3
In the tuning world doubling your car’s horsepower usually takes a big investment and is really hard to achieve. In the tuning world, a BMW E90 M3 with 785 WHP is a rarity. Actually, it’s a glitch in the Matrix as Trinity would put it because it’s the only car in the world capable of such outputs.
The E90 in question belongs to a member of the Bimmerpost community and it’s absolutely incredible in terms of performance. The 4-liter S65 V8 atmospheric engine was tuned to such a degree that it’s showing up to double the figures on the dyno.

You might say otherwise but you should keep in mind that this is wheel horsepower we’re talking about here not what the car is making at the crank (which is the value cars are marketed with). Usually, there’s a discrepancy between the values that ranges between 10 and 15 percent usually (depending on a number of factors like the type of transmission it has and others).

On BMW cars, it’s usually around 12 percent. That means that this car is making around 880 HP at the crank. The stock car has a claim of 420 HP so that’s a bit over twice as much. On the torque side of things, the dyno recorded 528 lb-ft (715 Nm) at the wheels which translates to around 591 lb-ft (800 Nm). The stock car is rated at 400 Nm (295 lb-ft).

How was all of this possible?

There’s forced induction involved, as you can imagine. The car had an ESS VT3 supercharger installed along with a set of Dinan catless crosspipes, complete cat deletion an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust installed along with an Alekshop oil cooler to keep things in check.

The manual beast (imagine that...) also received new American Racing headers and managed these numbers on 99 octane gas. Some might say that’s cheating but that’s a whole different topic.

Now, with that much power available on a manual gearbox, I can only imagine that this thing is a virtual tire consuming machine if you want it to be...
