Despite its boxy appearance, we loved the Subaru XV crossover when it made its production-form debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. We knew that it would be sold in the markets that currently offer such a car, including Australia and most of Asia, but the big question remained whether the Japanese automaker would see their crossover in America.
According to Motor Authority, the answer is very much yes, but only with the arrival of the 2013 model year, when it will be integrated under the Impreza brand.
For the US market, a new design will be used for the front end. In the market, all Subarus have model names that are words, and the XV would be likely to conform to that practice, according to Michael McHale, director of corporate communications for Subaru of America. A likely new designation would be Outback Sport that’s been used for a jacked up Impreza for a while now.
