You may or may not have expected this, but Subaru is enjoying booming sales in the US and thus the carmaker is planing to seriously increase its production in the country. Subaru’s current production level in America sits at 130,000 cars per year, with the company planing to take the value to 300,000 vehicles per year by 2016.
The first move would be to increase the output at the Indiana plant, but the plan hasn’t received the green light yet. However, the scheme has major chances of becoming a reality, especially since company officials expect the level of US sales to keep rising.

To be more specific, the president of Subaru’s owner, Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), expects the carmaker to surpass the 350,000 units US sales landmark for next year.
