Sales of the Subaru Impreza and its hot version, the WRX STI, which in the UK was sold as more of a separate sub-brand, will be ceased in 2013. Despite the fact that a new model is already available, and sold in the US, it will not make it to UK shores due to a lack of demand exhibited by buyers.
A Subaru spokesman confirmed the news to autoexpress.co.uk: “The new Impreza has been under evaluation in the UK for 12 months, but the decision has been taken not to bring that car to the UK because of insufficient demand.” However, do not comprehend why they will also stop selling the WRX STI, as it is still a serious contender in the sector, despite being somewhat old in its design.

The spokesman added, to clarify: “Subaru is concentrating on what it’s really good at – so we’re concentrating on SUVs and the BRZ – we’re hoping to get more [BRZs] next year to satisfy strong demand for that car.

Next to go is probably the Legacy, which will probably be taken out of showrooms at the end of next year. It seems that the Japanese automaker needs more models. The spokesman “could not confirm what happens to the Legacy after the end of 2013.
