Subaru to Show Off Concept and Confirms Participation at Detroit Motor Show

Subaru has confirmed its presence to the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this January.

The company is looking forward to presenting the 2009 Subaru Forester, a model that has recently been crowned as Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the Year. Furthermore, Subaru is unveiling a new concept vehicle and it might be the new boxer-powered rear-wheel drive sportscar that we've been expecting for the last year or so.

Rumors say that the new coupe has been developed in association with Toyota, who owns a large stake of Subaru. This might mean that Toyota or Scion will be showing off some coupes versions of RWD sportscars.

Toyota bought in April 16.16% of Subaru from General Motors and that is why the twoJapanese manufacturers are now producing a sportscar together.

Subaru even gave the press a full list if the models that will be on display at the Auto Show. The list includes the Legacy 2.5i Limited 4AT-S, the Outback in two forms (the 2.5i Special Edition MT5 and 3.0R Limited 5AT-S), the Impreza 2008 WRC Replica Vehicle, 2.5i 4-Door Premium 4AT-S, WRX 4-Door Premium MT5, and WRX STI 5-Door MT6 with Silver BBS Wheels.

There are also the two 4WD Subarus on show, the Tribeca 7-Passenger Special Edition and the Forester 2.5X Premium with AWP MT5 and 2.5XT Limited with NAVI.

It is nice to see that there are car companies that are coming to the Detroit Motor Show, considering that the other big manufacturers such as Nissan, Infinity, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Land Rover, and Rolls Royce and Porsche have pulled out.
