Subaru to Deliver Letters to Santa Claus in Lapland

Subaru teamed up with East Anglian children’s charity and a local motoring enthusiast in order to make this Christmas a little happier. Sarah Turner will be driving a Forester from Norfolk to Lapland in order to hand deliver letters to Santa Claus from children cared for by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

Turner left on her 2000-mile trip on November 14. Before leaving, she said: “The diesel Forester will be the perfect travelling companion for what is sure to be a very challenging trip.

With the ‘Boxer’ diesel giving brilliant fuel economy I can cross Europe without a guided tour of the fuel stations, and once I hit the winter weather the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive will take good care of me. Crucially, there is also ample space for all the post for Santa.

After she will drive across France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, Turner will hit Scandinavia where plenty of snow is expected. But Sarah likes driving in the snow, as she crossed arctic Canada back in 2004, when temperatures dropped to around minus 50 degrees centigrade.

It’s great that Sarah has been able to help us out here at EACH with a unique journey to Lapland to deliver letters to Father Christmas. We rely heavily upon voluntary donations and Sarah’s journey should go some way to raising the profile of EACH in the local community and beyond,” said Danielle Clarke, EACH community fundraising co-ordinator for South Norfolk and Norwich.
