Subaru Takes Care of Man's Best Friend

For those of you who are curious to see what the guys at Subaru of America are doing when they’re not testing some new all wheel drive, turbocharged boxer monster, we have the answer: they’re working together with aviation pilots.

Now you’re probably expecting some sort of cool cooperation that will make future WRX STIs pass 250 km/h (actually, this is what we thought about). However, the true answer is quite far from this. The Subaru boys paused the drift for a few seconds to find a little time for supporting Pilots N Paws, a charitable organization comprised of general aviation pilots who collaborate with volunteers to relocate animals “in need of loving homes”.

In order to help, the pilots will do what they know best: "fly"… the animals to safe heavens, while Subaru’s U.S. arm will provide the financial support.

As more than half of our owners have a pet, it makes sense for us to support animal-friendly organizations such as Pilots N Paws," said Todd Lawrence, promotions and sponsorship manager, Subaru of America, Inc. "We are excited about this partnership which gives us the opportunity to help connect animals in need with owners looking to provide homes for these pets."

"Pilots N Paws is honored to partner with Subaru and promote our passion of helping innocent animals in need by flying them from overcrowded areas, to areas with adoptive homes waiting," said Debi Boies, co-founder, Pilots N Paws. "Subaru recognizes the important role that pets provide in our lives. Together, we will continue to give these animals a second chance at finding a loving family."

What can we say... there's more to "Subaru cats" than we thought.
