The Tokyo Motor Show 2015 is in full swing right now and, as expected, there're a plethora of new Japanese cars being released right now. Subaru kicked things off with a new limited-edition model based on the WRX STI dubbed S207.
Even though the specs have been announced today, the car will be available only starting with December 1, 2015, and only in 400 units to keep the desirability high. Don’t expect big changes for the S207, though, as is the norm in this kind of situations.

The 2-liter boxer 4-cylinder engine under the hood was now tuned to make 328 HP instead of the usual 309, which may seem like nothing at first, but the big deal lies in the other areas of engineering rather than pure horsepower figures. Torque also went up from 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) to 431 Nm (318 lb-ft) on the S207.

Handling is enhanced thanks to a quick steering gear ratio that has been improved to 11:1, as well as a flexible tower bar and DampMatic II front suspension with adjustable dampers, a first for any Japanese automaker according to Subaru.

The front and rear axles benefit from Active Torque Vectoring, while the wheels are now even more capable thanks to Brembo 6-pot calipers up front and 4-pot rears. To make things even sharper, the rotors are drilled, with the fronts being a 2-piece type layout.

Regarding visual changes, you’ll notice the exclusive large front spoiler fitted on the car that will improve downforce and airflow around the nose of the S207 STI.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find Recaro bucket seats and customized sport instruments. Of course, almost everything else wears the S207 logo, including the door sills, rear seats, instrument cluster, and so on.

For those looking to be even “more special,” an NBR Challenge Package Yellow Edition of the S207 will be on offer, in just 100 units. This one sets itself apart from the “regular” S207 with its Sunrise Yellow paint, black door mirrors, yellow side sill plates with the S207 logo and black side sill moldings.

If yellow isn’t your thing, the S207 can also be ordered in the NBR Challenge Package in the rest of the palette available that includes WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, and Crystal Black Silica. In this case, you should know that the NBR Challenge Package includes a suede-wrapped steering wheel (with silver center marking), red seatbelts, BBS 19” forged black aluminum wheels and a dry carbon rear spoiler with the S207 logo.

Therefore, what we’re looking at here are actually three limited-run models: the S207, S207 NBR Challenge Package, and the S207 NBR Challenge Package Yellow Edition.
