Subaru Plans Largest Subaru Gathering in Illinois

Setting a Guinness World Record is a true challenge, especially when it’s all about getting as much cars as you can, all belonging to the same brand, together at the same time and place. That is what Subaru of America is trying to do, after it partnered with the Village of Itasca, Illinois, in what is intended to be the ‘Largest Parade of Subaru Cars.”

Interested participants are invited to register here their own Subaru in the parade, until July 8. The attempt is scheduled to take place on July 11 at 9:00 AM, starting from 500 park Boulevard in Itasca.

Supporting this event is Subaru's Great Lakes Region, that will make a donation for PAWS Chicago and Salute, both non-profit organizations to support homeless pets, and veterans respectively. The organizations will receive $15 per participating car from Subaru, up to a total of $7,000.

An official Guinness World Records’ adjudicator will be on site to observe and confirm this record attempt.

According to Subaru, in addition to going for the record and help the two organizations raise funds, parade participants:

  • will receive a special gift bag (only one for each car).
  • are invited to attend Itasca Fest following the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS attempt. This fest features: live entertainment, carnival rides, food, bingo, kids' entertainment, a three-on-three basketball tournament, and NASA's "Journey to Tomorrow" exhibit.
  • are eligible for a special event room rate of $89 per night at The Westin Chicago Northwest hotel. The four-star, four-diamond hotel is located within walking distance from the start of the parade. The event rate is good for parade participants only and based on availability.
