Subaru has developed a limited edition of the 2017 BRZ, called Yellow Special Edition. The Japanese automaker will only sell 500 of these models, and they will be the only ones available in the Yellow exterior color.

Furthermore, the 500 units will get interior accents in yellow, along with performance upgrades. We are writing about a Brembo performance braking system, as well as Sachs performance shock absorbers.

Naturally, the special edition of the 2017 BRZ comes with all of the improvements applied for the new model year.

Therefore, customers get a lower final drive of 4.1 with the standard Torsen limited-slip differential, as well as a 2.0-liter Boxer engine that provides 205 HP and 156 lb-ft. The six-speed manual gearbox is standard for this version, and there is no mention of an automatic option.

Along with the mentioned upgrades to the suspension and braking systems, the BRZ now has a Track mode instead of the Sport mode, and this has been achieved through the recalibration of the stability control system.

Subaru could not have done these modifications if its engineers have not fitted reinforcing elements to the chassis, rear wheel housings, transmission cross member plate, and strut tower braces.

The yellow exterior is contrasted by black 17-inch alloy wheels, black BRZ and Subaru badging, and black exterior mirror caps. Subaru made this particular model based on the Limited trim level and the Performance Package.

Thanks to this, the car comes with all the standard elements of the highest trim level, along with additional features, like a 4.2-inch LCD multifunction display. This screen can show various driving data, from the braking force and the steering angle to oil temperature and battery voltage. An integrated stopwatch is also fitted.

Once inside, passengers will observe the same black and yellow contrast, present on the leather-upholstered seats, steering wheel, knee pads, shifter boot, door panels, and dash panels. The front seats have a yellow “BRZ” logo on them, and the floor mats come with yellow stitching and silver “BRZ” logo.
