Subaru Impreza Has a Nasty Crash at the Nurburgring

By now, you've all probably heard about the famous Nordschleife Touristenfahrten, track days for amateurs. A lot of fun can be hard at these events, but a lot of usually follows.

The driver of this Subaru Impreza learned the hard way that even his symmetrical all-wheel drive system has limits.

As with the first generation, the turbocharged WRX and STI variants were available in numerous specifications, so it's impossible to say exactly what this car is, but it's clearly a pre-facelift second-gen built from 2000 through to 2002.

The car spins out of a high-speed corner, hits the rail going backwards and almost hits the guard on the other side of the track. It's not critical damage, but it's still enough to put it out of service for the week.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
