Subaru Forester X Columbia Launched in Australia

Subaru and sportswear company Columbia joined forces for developing a new special edition Forester for the Australian market that will go on sale across the country this week. Codenamed Forester X Columbia, the range will be limited to 1,050 units and will be offered with either a manual or an automatic transmission.

According to globalmotors.net, pricing for the special edition Forester will start at $33,990 for the manual and $35,990 for the automatic. Additionally, customers choosing one of these models will receive a $500 voucher to be spent in Columbia's stores.

Among the features to be available on Forester X Columbia we can mention, ABS brakes with EBD, dual front, side and curtain airbags, all-wheel drive, DataDot security system, hill holder, power steering, power windows and electric mirrors. All vehicles are offered with three year and unlimited kilometer warranty.

Subaru is performing quite well in the Australian market, with Forester and Outback currently the best-selling models. Furthermore, the latter was recently named the best Aussie SUV under 40k, an award offered by several local publications, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Drive.

“We’ve had fantastic acceptance of our new generation Outback models and this award is great independent proof of their ability,"
Nick Senior, Subaru Australia managing director said in a release. “Outback established the crossover SUV wagon class in Australia and this award shows it’s still ahead of the game.”

Back in November, Subaru announced that sales of the Impreza WRX model have surpassed the 30,000 unit mark, an achievement that does nothing more than to emphasize the company's success in Australia.

“The dawn of Impreza WRX is an amazing milestone in our history,”
Nick Senior said at that time. “Just like the Subaru Forester and Outback, it effectively established a new class of vehicle, one that many have now followed."
