As Kiki Challenge videos go, this isn’t the most dangerous stunt pulled by a passenger in a moving car, but it’s definitely right up there with the most stupid.
Fallon Gomez was at the car wash with her friend and, somehow, she thought getting out of the vehicle to do the choreography from the video to Drake’s “In My Feelings” hit single was a good idea. Not surprisingly, she got to find out that it wasn’t, while also earning herself 15 minutes in the spotlight.
The bad news is that her stunt cost her money, because she broke the door of the car. You can see the challenge in the video at the bottom of the page.
The challenge, also known as #DoTheShiggy or #InMyFeelings, has been around for enough time to excuse your assuming it was already over. It involves a passenger jumping out of a moving car and dancing to the track, while keeping up with the vehicle, which does about 10mph.
So far, numerous injuries have been recorded from the challenge: people have tripped and fell, have been hit by cars or otherwise injured. The sheer number of victims should send a clear signal that this is simply not cool, but apparently, it doesn’t.
Enter Gomez. No idea how she imagined doing the challenge while the car was going through the car wash would go, but she did it either way: she jumped out and started twerking, as the car was going through on the conveyor belt.
If you listen closely, you can hear the door creaking and snapping as it gets caught on a brush, and you immediately see Gomez trying to convince the driver to move forward. She had hoped the damage was reversible, but that wasn’t the case.
“My two friends and I were in the car and we decided to go through the car wash,” she says. “While we were mid-car wash, the Drake song came on the radio and I had the bright idea to hop out and do the challenge.”
“But it ended with a broken door. As we exited the car wash the door would not close, and I almost got blown away by the giant dryer. It was so funny and absolutely spontaneous, I just hope Drake sees the video and laughs,” Gomez adds.
At least she’s choosing to see the funny side of things, so props for that.
