STR Source Confirms Buemi, Alguersuari for 2011

A couple of days back, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) shared with the media the official entry list of the 2011 Formula One championship. Needless to say, seeing the 10 vacant racing spots on that list, one could easily figure out that this was a provisional thing. In the meantime, one of those spots has been secured by Venezuelan racer Pastor Maldonado.

Scuderia Toro Rosso was one of the teams who announced two vacancies for 2011, although it has been widely reported that Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi will continue with the squad in the year to come. However, as they all say, until you see your name on that list (and even if you see it, sometimes) one can never say if he has a job next year.

Despite the incertitude, the Faenza based organization insisted that both drivers will be retained for next season. Although recent reports have suggested that Alguersuari's place is solid, the news about Buemi weren't at all that well. Plus, the team recently announced the appointment of Australia's rising star Daniel Ricciardo as Friday driver throughout 2011.

Responding the rumors that the Red Bull-backed organization is trying to push Ricciardo in the STR lineup from as early as 2011, a source from within the Italian team once again confirmed that the two current drivers will drive the STR6 throughout the upcoming campaign. That info comes to echo a team's statement last week, which read: “As already confirmed earlier this year, (the team's) driver lineup ... remains unchanged for 2011.

To further emphasize the good relationship between STR and Buemi, the Swiss driver posted on his Twitter account earlier this week, when present at the Faenza factory: “Nice dinner with the team in Faenza tonight.
