Stoner Tops Second Aragon Practice Session

Casey Stoner set the fastest time in the second practice session at Aragon, ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and Nicky Hayden. Dani Pedrosa, who was quickest in first practice, registered only the 13th time, followed by Mika Kallio (Pramac Ducati), Aleix Espargaro (Pramac Ducati) and Hiroshi Aoyama (Interwetten Honda).

Stoner managed to lead the the 45-minute session despite the heavy rain that forced all riders to alter their setups, so Dani Pedrosa remained the fastest rider of the day on a dry track.

Stoner, who was only fourth in the morning, set the best time of 2’01.710, followed by Jorge Lorenzo at 0.568s and Nicky Hayden at 0.701s. Valentino Rossi arrived fourth, 1.168 seconds behind pacesetter Stoner. The top six was completed by Marco Melandri (+1.436s) and Andrea Dovizioso (+2.044).

Randy de Puniet (LCR Honda) - 2.091s, Ben Spies (Tech 3 Yamaha) - 2.164s, Hector Barbera (Aspar Ducati) - 2.353 and Marco Simoncelli (Gresini Honda) - 2.441s completed the top ten of a practice session that saw only a few minutes of partially dry track.
