Whether your insurance covers such scenarios or not, one of the greatest nightmares of a loving driver is to have his or her contraption stolen. And we're here to bring you the latest such case, one that looks like a horror stunt, at least for those of us who develop feelings and emotions for metallic monsters such as the BMW M5.
The F10 M5 you see in these images had been grabbed by thieves - as somebody who has witnessed a friend going through such an ordeal, I am familiar with the tornado that can take place in the owner's head as the hours go by with the police searching for the car. And when one finds the vehicle in such a state, sadness gets a whole new meaning.

Judging by the source of the photos, namely the Dutch Autogespot Facebook page and the possibly Dutch number plate on the back of the Bimmer, it seems this was the corner of the world where the unfortunate event took place.

As it turns out, the thieves were short on time and not exactly prepared with serious gear, as key components such as the engine and the brakes were left in place.

Alas, we can't say the same about a host of other bits and we're dealing with both exterior and interior parts. And things were quite thorough in this area, as, for instance, the hood disappeared along with the entire front fascia and the front wings - basically, all the bits required for the "M5 look" (wheels obviously included) will probably show up for sale on the internet.

As for the cabin, the iDrive module, from the controller to the screen, is now gone and we can say the same about items such as the steering wheel, the gear shifter and the climate control module.

And while the dashboard instruments are also missing, we also have to take into account the less visible damage. After all, the criminals didn't exactly follow BMW service procedures when removing the said parts...
