When Mercedes-Benz took the decision to fit every single E 63 AMG sold in the United States with 4Matic all-wheel drive in standard, many people complained about the future lack of sideways action from their German muscle cars, without thinking too much about what enormous gains in traction will bring to the models.
The following drag racing video is a perfect proof what four-wheel traction means for the insanely-powerful E 63 AMG S-Model version.

Without even using the launch control function of the seven-speed MCT gearbox and basically launching from idle, this all-wheel drive uber-sedan can do the quarter mile (402 meters) in a blazing fast 11.88 seconds.

We should remind you that the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG S-Model's performance also comes courtesy of no less than 585 hp and 800 Nm (590 lb ft) of torque. It is all being delivered by a beautiful piece of German engineering that comes in the form a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine.
