Stigo, One of the World's Coolest Folding Electric Scooters

Electric mobility is doubtlessly one of the fastest-growing industries, and this massive wave of developing ideas brings forth exceptional designs, and Stigo is, by all means, one of the coolest concepts we’ve seen in a long time.

Stigo is the epitome of mobility and practicality, combined into a concept which boasts amazing versatility and awesome value. Folding scooter designs are old news, but Stigo takes things to the next level and beyond. Weighing only 13.5 kg (under 30 lbs), and equipped with convenient trolley wheels, hauling it around is a breeze, even for the most delicate ladies. When folded, this scooter has a 45×40 cm (18”x 16) “footprint and can fit almost anywhere for true convenience: riders can carry it in trains, busses, and even planes.

Folding and unfolding takes about 2 seconds, but we’re ready to bet that a trained rider can speed-unfold it in just one second. The design itself is extremely easy to understand and use, and this only adds to the cool factor. Stigo is powered by a 36V LiFePO4 battery feeding a 250W hub motor which can reach 25 km/h (15.5 mph).

Depending on the battery pack size, the Stigo provides a range between 20 and 40 km (12-25 miles). With an average commuting distance of 12-13 km (8 miles), Stigo will only set you back with a laughable 1.5 euro cents ($0.02) a day. The first Stigo scooter deliveries are expected in spring 2015, and with a price tag of €1.490 ($2,050), this is a steal. My 2 cents (sic!)…
