After four years of Hennessey Venom GT Spyder ownership, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has announced that he's selling it at auction.
Tyler is not getting rid of his Hennessey because he's getting bored, but for helping abused and neglected girls. The Aerosmith star will donate all proceeds from the sale of his Venom GT Spyder to Janie's Fund.

If you want to own a fast convertible that was first delivered to Steven Tyler and driven by him for about four years, you'd better prepare your checkbook.

According to Fox News, the opening bid on Tyler's car is $1.1 million, but the vehicle could fetch more considering its famous owner. Interested customers are expected to contact Janie's Fund through the month of May.

Steven Tyler says he has driven the Venom GT Spyder at “about 140 mph,” (225 km/h) a speed which was probably achieved on an airport runway. The singer even recommended the future owner of his Hennessey to make friends with someone who runs an airport.

Tyler claims he has only done this once, but you can do it as a habit if that is what you fancy. After all, it's not like you won't be able to afford it if you're the winning bidder.

If you are wondering why the opening bid is set at $1.1 million, that was the price Tyler paid for the very first 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder ever built. The Texan tuning specialist dyno-proofed the car at 1,244 HP, and the convertible is capable of reaching 260 mph.

The peak torque of the 7.0-liter V8 LSX engine is not too bad, as it's rated at 1,155 lb-ft (1,566 Nm). As some of you already know, the GM-sourced unit features a pair of Precision dual ball bearing turbos.

Hennessey fitted the car with a six-speed manual gearbox, and we are happy Steven Tyler managed to keep it all under control for all this time. We hope its future owner does the same, as it would a shame to wreck such a feat of engineering.

In over fourteen years, he got behind the wheel of several hundred vehicles and in the offices of the most important car publications in his homeland.
