This might just be the most elegant Wrangler out there.
When it comes to adding a healthy dose of opulence to your ride, the British specialists over at Sterling Automotive aren’t playing around. Ever since its foundation, the Blackburn-based enterprise amassed many magnificent exploits that’ll have just about any self-respecting petrolhead lost for words.

The tuner prides itself on an extensive inventory, covering the likes of Ford, Audi, and Land Rover, to name a few. Needless to say, there’s some genuine talent at hand on Sterling’s premises, and each of their works of auto art is a true testament to that claim. To be quite frank, these folks never cease to impress the aftermarket world.

Now, let’s proceed with a closer analysis of a cool project brewed under this company’s roof. It revolves around a two-door Euro-spec diesel Wrangler from Jeep’s revered lineup. Before we dive in, let's take a second to examine a few of the stock vehicle’s main characteristics. In this fashion, you’ll get a fairly clear idea as to what the Sterling crew is capable of accomplishing.

Below the car’s hood, you will find a 2.2-liter EcoDiesel inline-four mill, with four valves per cylinder head and a compression ratio of 15.5:1. At approximately 3,500 revs, this mean machine will gladly deliver up to 200 hp, along with 332 pound-feet (450 Nm) of fierce twisting force at 2,000 rpm. The powerplant’s oomph is channeled to all four wheels by means of an eight-speed automatic transmission, leading to a respectable top speed of 112 mph (180 kph).

On the other hand, stopping power is taken good care of by ventilated disc brakes on all four sides. The entire structure crawls of a set of 18-inch wheels with five spokes each. The two-door Wrangler weighs around 4,473 lbs (2,029 kg) on an empty stomach, and its wheelbase measures 96.8 inches (2,459 mm). All things considered, this bad boy may not exactly be a superstar on the tarmac, but it’ll behave like an absolute wonder as soon as it hits the dirt!

Now, I do hope you’re not expecting any performance upgrades from Sterling Automotive’s custom beast, as there aren’t any. Instead, the firm decided to focus solely on the visual side of things, and the final result looks like the Darth Vader of rugged all-terrain monstrosities.

For starters, the original wheels were discarded to make room for 17-inch Pro Comp counterparts, enveloped in all-terrain rubber from Davanti Terratoura. Honestly, these tasty things are an ideal match for the Wrangler’s chunky aesthetic.

Besides these new shoes, Jeep’s behemoth was also treated to a selection of cosmetic tweaks that bring about some truly ominous vibes. At the front, Sterling’s experts equipped a pair of muscular bumper extensions, and the original grille was removed in favor of a bespoke module with horizontal strakes.

As you move on to the flanks, you will notice beefy fender flares arching over the fresh hoops, while the rear end is adorned by a sexy spare wheel cover that keeps it classy. Last but not least, the cabin received an assortment of Alcantara trimmings on the dashboard and door panels, leather-clad seats, and several Sterling emblems to round it all out.

Britain’s reputed tuner will charge £52,995 ($71,414 at current exchange rates) for this sinister piece of machinery, which has ultimately been dubbed Jeep Wrangler JL Launch Edition. Should you be looking to spice things up in your driveway, then you’ll definitely want to check this out!
