Florida-based bike workshop Steel Bent Customs is indeed about so much more than bending steel and doing custom jobs on motorcycles: the guys are into style, and that should read with a capital S. And taking a closer look at their Black Betty will make you understand that the words above are not a overstatement.
Black Betty was an 1999 Triumph Adventurer, a bike so vividly screaming for riding fast in the twisting countryside roads itself. But there was so much more to the old Triumph than the common eye could meet... the rear of the bike gold changed for good, in the traditional SBC way: throw everything away, build a new subframe, tuck wires and everything away from sight.
And looking at how svelte the Black Betty has become, we might say that Steel Bent really know their job. A lower rear commanded lowered bars, so clubman ones were installed, emphasizing the new racing attire of the bike, with its beautiful generous tank hunching above everything.
Chrome accents are a nifty match for the matte black and alternating these two with the pearly white of the bike and the cold, menacing polish of the engine make the Black Betty show some evil, too. This is a bike which simply asks to be ridden fast and hard, on highways or in the cities, on mountain roads and countryside lanes between fields of barley, as well. We love it!
