The US state of Texas has decided to boost the adoption rate of alternatively-fueled vehicles, by offering a reported $5.7- (€4.5-) million in the form of grants. The grants will apply to pure EVs, hydrogen-powered, natural gas-powered and methanol-powered vehicles.
Texas is the US state with the highest quantity of CO2 released into the atmosphere, despite things having improved over the last few years, with some cities on the verge of breaching the federal clean air standards. Apart from regular consumers, the state will also try to encourage companies to give up the usage of diesel-pwered vehicles, in favor of cleaner alternatives - a good example is this UK-engineered van which will be built in the US.

Apart from the grants, Texas authorities are also encouraging ‘the shift’ by passing natural gas fueling station-friendly laws in Dallas, Huston and San Antonio.
