The tuning business is not what it used to be. It's not that people have suddenly stopped being interested in having their vehicles customized, it's just that the tuning outlets have been passed through the sieve so only the ones that matter are still around.
Startech definitely falls into that category. The German customizer based in Bottrop is no stranger to the automotive industry, having been around for 18 years already. It specializes in Jaguar, Land Rover, and Range Rover models, but as these images prove, it doesn't restrict its services to those British brands only.

The tuner has had a strong presence at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show where it did its number of several luxury SUVs. The most remarkable one must have been the impossibly expensive Bentley Bentayga, to which Startech added a few tens of thousands of dollars more via an eighteen-piece body kit as well as new wheels and the necessary spacers.

The stand was completed by a Land Rover Discovery - which, unlike the SVX model presented by the British brand, focused on luxury rather than off-road prowess - and a black Range Rover with golden trim. You know, the classic stuff.

This Maserati Levante takes the SUV theme further. It was actually put together by Sahli & Frei AG, Startech's official partner from Switzerland, but it still counts as a Startech model. The most striking part of the modified vehicle is undoubtedly its front end, where the added carbon fiber wing makes its resemblance to Darth Vader's mask uncanny. You can almost hear it breathe heavily and should a red lightsaber pop out at any time, nobody would really be surprised.

The other modifications brought to the Italians' first SUV include a rear bumper insert with integrated exhaust tips, a carbon fiber lightweight rear diffuser, and 21-inch Monostar M wheels with special painting. We're not so crazy about the red accents on the rims - especially since they take a little away from the impact of the red calipers - but we have to agree the Levante has never looked angrier. And it fits it.
