Being designed by the one and only Victoria Beckham, the Range Rover Evoque already has that ‘je ne sais quoi’ about it that attracts you from the get go. The guys from Startech thought it wasn’t enough for their pedigree and decided to create a new version for the Geneva Motor Show this year.
Unfortunately, they didn’t release all the relevant info about the car just yet but instead chose to tease us with a couple of photos posted on their Facebook page. Judging by previous experiences with them, we reckon the car used as a basis in this project was a top of the line model.
That means it’s an Si4 model fitted with a 2-liter petrol turbocharged engine good for 240 HP and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque and a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of 7.6 seconds. Well, it’s an Evoque, not a Supercharged Sport model, what did you expect?
Even so, the car is quite capable nonetheless and just recently received a 9-speed automatic gearbox as an optional extra. The point of the Startech tuning wasn’t to increase its fuel efficiency though.
Oh no, the point was to create a bespoke vehicle. In order to do so, they installed 22 inch wheels in a bi-color setup, new bumpers (the rear one has a special design to include the exhaust tips as well), a roof spoiler and a special paint.
The color scheme also fits the character of the car pretty nice, a Brit still being a Brit no matter if it’s a Land Rover, Jag or a less-fortunate MG. Therefore, style and class have to be on par with the demands. The white body of the car will forever be a classic and the bronze details match it perfectly, along with the gloss black elements on the Evoque. Yes, this is a good looking ride!
And we reckon some performance changes are also in the works, including maybe a new ECU map. That's suggested by the beefier cross drilled rotors hiding underneath the new rims.
