With prices starting around $200,000, a Bentley Continental GT is an exclusive piece of kit in its own right, but when you have one that's been transformed into something ready to go from the Serengeti to the North Pole, you just know it's a one-of-a-kind.
With so many other cars out there better suited to this transformation, it's not hard to understand why nobody has thought about this sooner. After all, even if you hike up the ride height, put mud tires on and put a bull bar on, you'll still be walking into a very posh cabin once you open that door.

To be fair, the Conti GT pulls the rugged look quite well on the outside. Now that the Bentayga is upon us, seeing an off-road capable Bentley doesn't seem so out of place anymore, even though this particular one started life as a comfy grand tourer with a 6.0-liter W12 engine.

The unit is still under the car's hood, meaning you should expect the same 582 hp power output and the 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque going to all four corners through an eight-speed automatic transmission. In fact, if it weren't for the 265/65/R17 Insa Turbo tires - which should be quite loud -, you would probably have every chance of thinking you were in a regular GT while seated behind the wheel.

Other modifications to the Bentley include eight Quantum Racing single adjustable shocks (two per wheel), custom 17-inch steel wheels, an LED light bar sitting on top of the black-painted external rollcage, and metal plates for underbody protection. The people who customized the car went out of their way to make it look tough, but they also gave it all it needs to back all the talk up with serious off-road abilities.

Speaking of its origins, the "Dakar-inspired Bentley off-roader" was built for the National Geographic series "Supercar Megabuild," so wouldn't just be buying a unique car, but also one that had its own TV show.

With the vehicle now listed on eBay and the bidding currently sitting at 16,600 British pounds ($21,500), this is a great opportunity to buy yourself a Bentley. However, the reserve has not been met yet, and with $32,000 worth of upgrades thrown in a car that was $200,000 to begin with, we doubt it will sell for anything less than $100,000, and that's being optimistic. But there's no harm in trying.
