SSC Tuatara Official Unveiling in Shanghai

The Chinese auto market seems to attract more car manufacturers which are drawn in by its growing sales potential. But some car manufacturers like the American SSC (Shelby Super Cars) decode to tease the audience with the unveiling of supercars which are quite a sight considering their American pedigree. America’s SSC, the manufacturer of the Ultimate Aero TT, has gone to Shanghai, China for the first official unveiling of their upcoming supercar, the Tuatara.

A previous unveiling of the car was made for a select group of clients, making the present unveiling the first one where potential buyers, as well as the press were invited to see the supercar. Also present at the event where SSC founder and CEO Jerod Shelby accompanied by Jason Castriota the famous designer behind the Ferrari P4/5 and Bertone Mantide. At the unveiling  the new distributor of the Tuatara for the Asian region was also announced, which in none other than SSC Asia.

The SSC unveiling event of the Tuatara in China points out strongly that the American company has high expectations for the emerging Chinese market, which shows signs of becoming the largest car market for expensive supercars. It's worth mentioning that no further details were revealed regarding launch dates or technical specs.

The possible powerplant is expected to be a twin-turbocharged 7.0-liter V-8 which puts out 1,350 horsepower. A seven-speed manual gearbox is expected, but an optional sequential one could also be fitted on the Tuatara.
