Remember the SsangYong Kyron or that incredibly unattractive Rodius? Yeah, SsangYong wanted to revolutionize design a while ago, but ended up with cars looking like a first-grade kids draw them during break time. Not anymore now...
SsangYong is trying to revolutionize itself now and started from a blank piece of paper when designed the XLV seven-seater concept. Well maybe not quite from scratch, because they had the XIV before, but still comes with some neat things.

The XLV concept got unveiled at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show, addressing to those that are looking for individuality and practicality.

Individuality because it certainly looks different from other SUVs. Measuring 4,430 mm in length, 1,845 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, the concept is defined by sharp lines interweaving with soft curvy surfaces and a bold front fascia with large side vents and L-shaped daytime running lights integrated into the headlamps.

Practicality comes thanks to suicide-style doors and seven seats that come in a unique combination of 2+2+2+1, the seventh seat being able to slide between the second and third row depending on need. It also comes with a transparency-level electrically-controlled double layer glass roof and an advanced interactive communication system called “3S-Cube” comprising Smart-Link (updates various functions and control systems including permanent connection to smart electronic devices while also providing a situation awareness program that gives auto cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and auto emergency brake), Safe-Way (a number of features to ensure driving convenience) and Special-Sense (enables the user to design their own instrument cluster information and presentation).

The SsangYong XLV concept is also powered by a 1.6-liter diesel engine and 10 kW electric motor hybrid system which is said to emit 10% less CO2 than its competitors.
