SsangYong still thinks they can crack the European market and they have redesigned the XIV concept to become a rolling roof convertible. This futuristic design based on yacht language has bowed today at the Geneva Motor Show.
The XIV-2 is a premium convertible CUV (crossover utility vehicle), and follows in the tracks of SsangYong’s XIV-1 show car, first shown at the IAA in Frankfurt, September 2011.
SsangYong already had 2.0-liter turbo engines ready for this car, but now the concept is being presented as a 1.6-litre Euro 6 compliant, petrol and diesel engines, both linked to a 6-speed manual or an automatic and back by Idle Stop and Go technology (ISG).
The petrol car has 125 PS, while the diesel offers 103 PS, and almost twice as much torque as the gas-burner.
