See those two quirky concept vehicles featured in the photo gallery below? Those two are going to undergo minimal design alternations, spurring an all-new model dubbed X100. To come in the form of a B-segment crossover a la the Nissan Juke, the X100 was previewed at the Paris Motor Show by what the automaker calls "near production ready concepts of the soon to be launched X100."
Both the XIV-Air (the white one without a roof) and its XIV-Adventure brother (the one with the metal roof) measure 4,195 mm in length and boast with a 2,600 mm wheelbase to properly accommodate five adults. SsangYong tells they're based on the brand’s design philosophy of "Robust, Specialty and Premium" and the upcoming X100 crossover is intended to create a close connection with its owners.

The B-segment X100 is dubbed by the South Korean as the most significant strategic model for the brand's near future. Equipped with auto stop&start, an electric power-assisted steering and AWD, both the XIV-Air and Adventure are adorned by a new design philosophy called "Nature born - 3 Motion," which apparatenly has something to do with nature's "dignified, dynamic and rhythmical qualities."

Wait, what?

Whatever. That marketing mumbo-jumbo is not even worth mentioning because you just look at those two and immediately figure without fancy talk the future SsangYong X100 will be the best-looking model of the marque in its entire existence. In terms of oomph, the manufacturer developed two new 1.6-liter mills - one's a petrol and one's a turbo diesel powerplant.

Coupled to either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission, the eco-friendly diesel boasts with CO2 emissions of 110 to 120 grams per km (running in 2WD mode) while the petrol delivers 140 to 150 grams per kilometer. As for the interior, the SsangYong XIV-Air and Adventure are equipped with a neat infotainment system, auto climate control, ventilated and heated front seats, as well as a rearview parking camera and an all-digital instrument cluster LCD display called "super-vision."
