SsangYong Driver Takes Out Lada

We have a habit of posting only those accident videos where the explanation is not the most obvious one, and we then try and search for a plausible way to go about explaining it. Take this accident, for instance, and try to explain it, in your mind, from an objective point of view, and try to imagine what caused it and why it ended the way it did.
So there`s this SsangYong Actyon SUV driver, who moves to overtake a slower moving Lada (crossing a white line in the process), yet as he is halfway through the maneuver, the car veers right, hitting the Lada, and both vehicles end up head-first into the left-hand guardrail.

Why did his crash take place? There were no potholes, no obstacles, and the road surface appears to be OK, even at the exact spot where the crash was initiated.

Did the SsangYong driver have something against slow moving Lada drivers, or was there an invisible patch of ice, which we may have missed?
